Talking Heads

An exhibition of icons from the world of performing arts - each sharing their greatest influence or inspiration.

The new body of photographic portraits by Cambridge Jones will allow the public to hear each subject talking about the person or performance that inspired them most to become involved in the world of performing arts. They will hear the words of each subject through headphones in the exhibition space.

Subjects will range from Sir Anthony Hopkins to Alan Rickman and from Dame Shirley Bassey to Catherine Zeta Jones.

Each portrait subject will be recorded briefly describing a person or performance that particularly affected them and where possible we will hear an excerpt of that choice as well. The resource here will be the vast archive of The New York Public Library for The Performing Arts.

The exhibition is being scheduled to open in four cities simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic. (London, New York, Cardiff & Brussels) and a book will be published simultaneously including all the portraits and their thoughts.

It is worth noting that Cambridge Jones is from Llanidloes in Wales and he has chosen all his subjects from the extraordinary list of talent to emerge from his home country.
